The benzene standard has scope exceptions. Employers must determine applicability to their operations. This employee course does not qualify a spill responder, industrial hygienist or medical professional.

Who should take this course?
Employees assigned to covered work areas where benzene is present. Employers must complete instruction for actual tasks, exposures and workplace procedures.
When is training required?
For covered operations, provide information and training at initial assignment to areas where benzene is present. Employees exposed above the action level require training at least annually thereafter. The standard’s scope exceptions must be considered.
Does the benzene standard apply to every workplace?
No. Section 1910.1028 contains specific scope exceptions. Employers must determine whether their operations are covered and provide instruction under the requirements that apply. The course explains this screening need; it does not make an applicability determination for your facility.
What does online completion replace?

How long does the course take?
Approximately 42 minutes of video across 78 short lessons, with ten module quizzes and a randomized ten-question final. Allow additional time for assessments and workplace instruction. This is not an OSHA-prescribed minimum duration.
What score do I need?
Evergreen Comply requires 80% and allows unlimited retakes. The final draws ten questions from a 24-question bank. These are Evergreen course standards, not OSHA-prescribed scores.
What does the certificate show?
After online completion and passing the assessments, learners can download an Evergreen Comply completion certificate with the regulatory crosswalk appended. It records online completion, not OSHA approval or completion of unperformed workplace instruction.
