What an MVR does—and does not—tell you
A motor vehicle record is a state driving record. It can include license status, license class, restrictions, and reportable driving violations; the details and history available vary by jurisdiction.
- A single MVR screening, rather than a criminal background-check bundle.
- A driver authorization step before a report is requested.
- Authenticated access to completed reports for the purchasing account.
CDLIS, PSP reports, Clearinghouse queries, drug testing, and ongoing monitoring are not included. An MVR alone is not a complete driver qualification file or a hiring decision.

Use the state that issued the driver’s license. Review the report charge and separate state DMV fee before paying; do not select the employer’s state instead.
Let the driver authorize the check
The driver receives a private link to provide their information and complete Checkr’s disclosure and consent step. A business inquiry is not driver authorization.
Review the result in your account
Follow the request status and access the completed MVR after signing in. Incomplete or flagged records require human review; the platform does not make employment decisions.
Questions about standalone MVR checks
Can I buy an MVR without a full background check?
The Evergreen workflow is designed for an MVR-only order. It does not add criminal searches or CDLIS. Ordering is available only after provider authorization and production setup are complete. The request panel on this page shows whether you can check out or contact our team.
How much does an MVR check cost?
The total combines an Evergreen report charge and the issuing jurisdiction’s DMV fee. When checkout is open, the order form shows the exact quote before payment. While checkout is closed, ask us to confirm current pricing and availability.
What information should an employer have ready?
For an inquiry, provide only your business contact information and location. For an available paid order, you will need the driver’s contact information, actual work location, and license-issuing state. The driver supplies sensitive license details through the private authorization flow.
How long will the report take?
Timing depends on driver completion, state record availability, and any provider review or exception. There is no guaranteed instant result. Do not treat payment or an invitation as a completed report.
Can a driver use this page to get a personal driving record?
This workflow is for employer screening requests, not a personal DMV record lookup. Drivers seeking their own record should use their licensing agency’s process. If an employer already sent you an Evergreen link, use that private link.
Does an MVR replace other DOT checks?
No. It is one record type, not a substitute for the other checks, documents, and processes applicable to your operation. Confirm your driver qualification obligations separately.
