Questions
- Why does the price change by state?
- Each state charges its own fee for a driving record. We add it to our report price at cost, so the total depends on the state that issued the driver’s license, not where your company or the job is.
- Do I need an MVR from more than one state?
- For a new driver, federal rules require an MVR covering the past 3 years from every state where the driver held a license or permit in that time, within 30 days of the start date (49 CFR 391.23). After that, at least every 12 months, you need a record from each state where the driver held a CDL or permit during that period (49 CFR 391.25). The MVR + CDLIS option searches for licenses in other states.
- Which states can’t I order?
- Pennsylvania, Utah and New Hampshire records aren’t available through Evergreen yet, and neither are U.S. territories other than Puerto Rico.
